MUSTANG MACH-E GT GETS UPGRADE WITH PERFORMANCE EDITION, ACCELERATES TO 60 MPH IN TARGETED 3.5 SECONDS

Targeting a 0-60 mph time of 3.5 seconds1, Mustang Mach-E GT Performance Edition joins the Mustang Mach-E GT stable, making an already-fast electric pony even quicker.

Pumping out 480 horsepower (358 kilowatts) and 634 lb.-ft. of torque (860 newton-meters2), Mustang Mach-E GT Performance Edition delivers more torque, grip and better handling by drawing more power from its battery pack and targets an EPA-estimated range of 235 miles3.

“We already pushed the envelope by creating an electric vehicle with the pony badge, so it’s only natural that we push it even further,” said Darren Palmer, global director, battery electric vehicles, Ford Motor Company. “Mustang Mach-E GT Performance Edition not only gives you the added performance you expect from the GT name, but accentuates the thrill with the responsiveness of an all-electric powertrain.”

Offering more than just added “oomph,” the Mustang Mach-E GT Performance Edition features sportier components including 19-inch front brakes with red-painted Brembo® calipers as well as 20-inch machined-face Ebony Black-painted pockets paired with 245/45R20 Pirelli summer tires and MagneRide® damping that helps to improve handling performance.

With the driver in mind, the front seats are Ford Performance-sculpted with Performance Gray ActiveX material featuring metallic stitching and unique Miko perforated reflective inserts. The instrument panel is enhanced by a unique aluminum appliqué, while the rear of the vehicle sports a Performance Edition GT badge.

Both Mustang Mach-E GT and Mustang Mach-E GT Performance Edition will be available in signature Mustang colors including Cyber Orange Metallic Tri-Coat, Dark Matter Gray Metallic, Rapid Red Metallic Tinted Clearcoat, Star White Metallic Tri-Coat, Grabber Blue Metallic, Shadow Black, Iconic Silver Metallic and Space White Metallic.

Mustang Mach-E GT and GT Performance Edition will be available late next summer.

Not mimicking the older model too much, the interior was digitally remastered for a more futuristic driving experience. I can’t assure you the delivery date, but I can assure you that this carbon fiber machine won’t be cheap. DEARBORN, Michigan, 28 de marzo 2014-Dos de los iconos más reconocibles del mundo se están uniendo el 16 y 17 de abril, cuando el nuevo Ford Mustang 2015 convertible estará en exhibición en la plataforma de observación del Empire State Building de New York. La exhibición  – replicando la misma hazaña de hace casi 50 años – coincide con la celebración mundial de los 50 años desde que Mustang debutó en la Feria Mundial de 1964 en New York.

“New York es una de las ciudades más grandes del mundo, y es el lugar donde la historia de Ford Mustang comenzó hace 50 años,” dijo Mark Fields, director de operaciones de Ford. “Estamos encantados de visitar el hito arquitectónico que ha sido el corazón de la ciudad de Manhattan durante 83 años con la nueva generación del automóvil que es el alma de Ford Motor Company.”

2013 Southern Maryland Mustang Club 10th Annual Fall Car Show at Waldorf Ford

10th annual all ford fall car show

The annual Southern Maryland Mustang Club Fall Show will be held at Waldorf Ford on Saturday, September 28th, from 9 am to 3 pm.  We wanted to send out a friendly reminder to let everyone know about this fun and fantastic event!   This is a family event that will include a DJ with drinks and food available for purchase.  We have provided information from the Southern Maryland Mustang Club’s Website on the event with registration details.  Please read below and we are looking forward to seeing all of you next Saturday!

Where: Waldorf Ford located at 2440 Crain Highway. Waldorf, MD 20601
• Vendors/Exhibitors/Applicants, registration from 9 ‐ 11 am. Registration closes at that time.

• Dash plaques will be awarded to first 80 registered vehicles

• Judging will commence at 11:30 and cease at 1:00 pm. Trophy presentation will begin at 2:30 pm.

• You must be entered to judge.

• All vehicles entered must be powered and bodied/produced by Ford Motor Company.

• Vehicles will be categorized into (A) Early Classics 1964½ ‐ 70, (B) Late Classics 71 ‐ 78, (C) Fox‐bodied 79 ‐ 93,(D) SN95 94 – 98, (E) SN95 99 ‐04,(F) S197 Mustangs 05 ‐ 09, (G) S197 Mustangs 10 ‐ +, (O)Non‐Mustang/LM Car,(T) Truck with trophies awarded in each category. There will be single trophies awarded for Best‐in‐Show, Sponsor’s Choice, and others. Door prizes will be given throughout the event.

• The decisions of the Southern Maryland Mustang Club and affiliates concerning this show are final. No exceptions.

The weekend is upon us, so we caught up with Waldorf Ford’s Sales team to see what the weekend and season’s must-have mustang.

How would you describe this mustang?

I have to say, I am obsessed with mustangs.  We have them in all colors and bodies. There are enough options for all kinds of customers. How would you take it from day to night? Work to weekend?

It’s fast, it’s beautiful AND it’s STREET LEGAL.

There is a lot of talk recently about the 2013 Shelby GT500.  This car puts out a ridiculous 650 horsepower and 631 foot pounds of torque.  It’s fast, it’s beautiful AND it’s STREET LEGAL.

Fast.  The force behind the speed is the 5.8L V8 Supercharged engine built here in North America.  In fact, it is the most powerful engine ever built in North America.  Almost every part of the power train has been tweaked to help maximize horsepower and to convert that horsepower to speed.  Built with an all aluminum block, a new supercharger, upgraded cooling system, redesigned connecting rods, higher cooling fan capacity and much more…  To help the driver harness all of this power and translate it to sheer speed, Ford developed Launch Control.   Launch control combines brake and engine management to help keep the tires from slipping.  The unique part of Ford’s system is that the driver can adjust engine speed settings to suit their driving style.  Plus they are in control of other settings to help further define their preferences.  All of these things (and more) packaged in the restyled exterior help Shelby GT500 achieve speeds in excess of 200 MPH.

Beautiful.  Now don’t think for one second that just because the car is fast that you need to drive around town with a paper bag over your head so people don’t recognize you, because the car is ugly.  This car is GORGEOUS!  7 different colors, three stripe options, window louvers, side scoops, two wheel choices and more that you can add or take off to suit your taste.

The Recaro seats are a must, in our opinion, if you are going to add the Track package.  2013 brings some modern touches to the Mustang look.  HID headlamps with LED lighting are book ends for the updated billet grille which looks great above the thinner, neater lower air dams.   The rear deck is updated with LED lamps that have a dark, almost tinted look to them.  I swear, the Mustang looks meaner and tougher than it ever has!

Street legal.  The question is can something this mean looking and fast really be street legal?  YOU BET IT CAN – and it is!  This car will turn heads with its looks and its roar.  It is proof positive that Mustang’s do lead the pack of muscle cars.  In the 1970’s many drag racers were looking for a car like this, something that could run a ¼ mile in 10 – 12 seconds. Now you can get it right off the showroom floor and take it to MIR and post those times…or quicker!

There will be a limited supply of the Shelby GT500 here at Waldorf Ford, in Southern Maryland and nationally.  Don’t let that stop you from coming in to see what we have.  If we don’t have one available, we might just have another Mustang that will fill that need for speed for you.

How many ways can I customize a Mustang?

The thinking at Ford Motor Company has changed a lot since 1906 when Henry Ford made the above quote. Imagine today telling a potential Mustang owner (or any other Ford model) that they can only get their car in black?

If the amount of customization is any indication, This year promises to be a spectacular year for the classic car. For the V6 model ONLY there are 9 color choices, 8 body kits, 5 different decklids, 8 grilles, 4 hoods, 4 louvers, 8 roof choices, you can get it with or without side scoops, 3 side skirts, 8 different spoilers, and 22 different wheels – YES, 22 WHEELS! That isn’t it either, there are choices for door handles, door trim, fuel doors, headlights, hoodpins, side mirrors and 23 choices for stripes and decals. What is even more amazing is that this is JUST THE EXTERIOR! Finally the icing on the cake is that you still have 3 other trim levels to choose from and customizations for all of those!

Well, it looks like spring has finally sprung here in Southern Maryland.  The weather is getting warmer and the events in the region are starting to roll.  Here at Waldorf Ford, we already have events planned and are adding more all of the time.  Here are the events planned so far:

May 7th:  Cars and Coffee with Southern Maryland Mustang Club.  This is an all Ford “Cruise In” here at Waldorf Ford.  Come join us from 10 am to 1 pm for fun, food and friendship.  Admission is free, but donations are appreciated.  Any donations received that day will benefit Health Partners Inc of Waldorf.  Health Partners Inc is a non-profit organization that provides free health services t o members of Charles County that do not have health insurance and who cannot afford to pay for health care on their own.

June 4th:  Susan G Komen Global Race for a Cure, Washington D.C.  In 2008, we celebrated the 25th anniversary of the Susan G. June 26th:  Mid Atlantic Cobra Association June 25th for the MACA 6th Annual Cruise-In. Come join the Mid Atlantic Cobra Association for a great networking opportunity.  All vehicles are welcome, but Cobras and GT500s get priority cruise position after the meet and greet.
